Macrostructure Analysis

Macrostructure Analysis or macroetching is the testing of the welding quality or metal surface by etching a metal surface to accentuate gross structural details, such as grain flow, segregation, porosity, or cracks, for observation by the unaided eye or at magnifications to 25x.
